Alternative Education Program Fees

2023-2024 School Year

The following fees are required to be paid by all parents for the 2023-2024 school year:

1. APPLICATION FEE

  • $250 application fee to be paid by April 28, 2023, for families of current students in good financial standing.
  • The application for prospective students will open on May 12, 2023, and the $250 application fee is due at this time.

3. 2023-2024 ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM FEE SCHEDULE

June 1, 2023

  • $550/child is due on June 1st.

August 4, 2023

  • Remaining balance for each child is to be paid in full.
  • This payment will vary depending on the number of children enrolled.
  • All deposits will be refunded should your child not be accepted into the CIS Alternative Program.



4. WHAT ARE THE FEES USED FOR? (see charts above)

The alternative program fees are used to support alternative program costs for Islamic and Arabic instruction as follows (from the charts above):

*The portion of fees for 1. Islamic Instructors, 2. Additional School Support Staff and 3. Islamic Studies Resources and Supplies are provided to Palliser School Division for the division to fulfill its commitment to provide Islamic and Arabic instruction.

**The portion of fees for 4. Executive Director & Support Staff fees are provided to Calgary Islamic School (CIS Society) to cover the Executive Director & Support Staff expenses.

***The portion of fees for 5. Facility Maintenance and Upgrades are provided to the Muslim Community Foundation of Calgary in order for the Foundation to fulfill its commitment under the lease agreement.

 

5. ADDITIONAL SCHOOL FEES

Field trip fees are collected in September for students in K - 12 and vary depending on the student's grade, extra-curricular activities and option classes. These fees are payable through School Cash Online.

Depending on the student's grade, extra-curricular activities and options chosen, there may also be additional fees that are payable through School Cash Online, as well as fees for physical education.

1. Application Fee

  • $250 application fee to be paid by March 15, 2022 for families of current students in good financial standing
  • The application for prospective students will open on April 29, 2022 and the $250 application fee is due upon completion

3. 2022-2023 Alternative Program Fee Schedule

  • $450/child is due on June 1st
    • This is $700 minus the $250 Application Fee
October 15, 2022
  • Remaining Balance for each child is to be paid in full
  • This payment will be different depending on the number of children enrolled.

4. What are the Fees used for?

The alternative program fees are used to continue to provide our students with an Islamic Education that includes:

Program instructors, Islamic curriculum, Islamic Books, Islamic resources, guest speakers, retreats and much more. The fees are also used to operate, maintain and improve the facility that supports the alternative Islamic Education program provided by the Muslim Community Foundation of Calgary.

 

5. Material/supplies Fees

Every student in grades K - 8 will be charged a material/supplies fee. For the 2022-2023 school year the fee will be $30.

Field trip fees are collected in September for students in K - 12 and vary depending on the student's grade, extra-curricular activities and option classes. These fees are payable through School Cash Online.

Depending on the student's grade, extra-curricular activities and options chosen, there may also be additional fees that are payable through School Cash Online, as well as fees for physical education.
